Frequently Asked Questions
1) Are your products produced in a peanut free and
tree-nut free facility?
Yes, all of our products are manufactured exclusively in facilities that do not
process peanuts or tree-nuts.
2) Are your products milk free, casein free, and lactose
free?
Yes, all of our products are manufactured without milk, casein, or lactose.
3) How do I get Meraby’s Allergy Family Foods
at a store near me?
If you would like to see our products at a store near you, simply fill
out our Retailer Request Form
(click here) and provide it to your grocer.
4) Are your products manufactured on equipment that
also processes milk and egg?
Yes, we do manufacture our products in facilities
that manufacture other products that contain these ingredients. However,
extensive cleaning procedures are utilized before Meraby products are manufactured
to ensure there is no cross-contamination. Our manufacturer uses a “wet” cleaning
procedure, as opposed to a “dry” cleaning procedure, which
ensures a more thorough removal of possible allergens. We also test every
batch to ensure our products are completely dairy and egg free.
5) Do you have plans to produce any wheat free/gluten
free products?
Yes, as Meraby expands its product line, we plan to
introduce wheat free/gluten free products. To ensure you’re aware
of new product introductions, please visit the contact
us page of the site
and send us an email letting us know what you would like to see in the
future.
6) Do your products contain sulfites or sesame?
Our products do not contain sesame or sulfites.
7) Why do you use evaporated cane juice, instead of
refined sugar?
Recent studies show that consumption of refined sugar
may be a contributing factor to other health related problems, such as
diabetes. Since we’re
concerned about our consumers’ overall well being, we’ve taken
steps to ensure our products contain ingredients that contribute to total body
health.
8) Can I use another oil in your mixes besides canola
oil?
Yes, you may use any oil that your diet will allow.
We recommend canola oil because of its heart healthy benefits, and because
it is not a common allergen. Other dry mixes call for the use of vegetable
oil, which is actually soybean oil. However, if soy isn’t a problem for you, then
you can certainly use it.
9) Are your products vegan?
Yes, our products are considered vegan since they do not contain any animal
by-products, such as eggs or dairy, nor do they use refined sugar.
10) Are your foods organic?
No, Meraby foods are not organic. While we strive to ensure we are
providing health conscious products, we are unable to make our foods organic.
In order to eliminate possible allergens, our manufacturing and supplier requirements
are very strict, and thereby quite costly. If we added the additional requirement
of organic onto our products, it would not be cost effective.
